As CCFAH is demand driven, the Commonwealth Secretariat recruits its Commonwealth National Climate Finance Advisers through a pool of experts which is continuously updated in response to the needs of member states. The central hub is hosted by the Government of Mauritius with Commonwealth National Climate Finance Advisers placed in countries across the Africa, Asia, Caribbean and Pacific regions. The CCFAH started operations in 2016 and as of March 2026, it had mobilised USD 566.16 million of climate finance for 180 projects across the Commonwealth member states.
Key Objectives:
As a Commonwealth National, Regional or Thematic Climate Finance Adviser, you will be working at the forefront of overcoming the identified barriers and enhancing the mobilisation of climate finance for sustainable development.
Commonwealth National, Regional or Thematic Climate Finance Adviser roles are tailored to specific thematic, regional and country requirements and will therefore differ from country to country, from region to region and thematic area (Gender and Health). Overall, Advisers are expected to be familiar with specific regional contexts, and have a good understanding of climate finance readiness, accreditation, proposal development and capacity building.
