2026 MTN Foundation Scholarship Details:
The MTN Foundation Scholarship Scheme, one of its flagship initiatives since 2010, is open to eligible undergraduate students in Nigerian public tertiary institutions.
Introduced in 2012, a special category of the scholarship targets qualified 200 and 300 level visually impaired students studying any course in universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education across the country.
Under the scheme, 300 successful students receive ₦300,000 annually until graduation, provided they maintain the required academic performance. Additionally, 60 visually impaired students are awarded ₦200,000 yearly under the same conditions.
In 2020, the foundation introduced another category for the top 10 highest-scoring candidates in the UTME, as announced by Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). These candidates automatically qualify for the scholarship and receive ₦300,000 annually from their first year through graduation, subject to maintaining the required grades.

- MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS) is open to 300 level students while the MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS) is open to 200 & 300 level Blind students.
- However, for blind students studying Law, which is a 5 years course, only 300 level students can apply for the MTN Scholarship.
- MTN will also award the top 10 UTME candidates with scholarships from their 100 level through to graduation upon meeting grade requirements.
CGPA Requirements for 2026 MTN Scholarship for undergraduates include;
- The MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS):
- STEM Students in Public Universities, and Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second class upper credit)
- STEM Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
- Direct Entry level STEM students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program and must have secured admission into 300 level/3rd year in a Public University.
- MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS):
- Blind Students in the Universities or Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5
- Blind Students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.

- On annual basis, 400 students are awarded Scholarships of ₦300, 000.00 (Three hundred thousand Naira) each to cover tuition, book allowances and living stipend for one academic year.
