Billionaire wife Shade Okoya and son Wahab face heavy backlash online over the way they pray during Eid Prayers (Video)

Billionaire businesswoman Shade Okoya and her son, Raheem Okoya, have sparked conversations online following the emergence of videos from their Eid-Il-Kabir prayer session.

The clips captured the moment Shade Okoya joined her billionaire husband, Chief Rasaq Okoya, alongside their children, relatives, and thousands of guests for the Eid prayer held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

The prayer gathering reportedly took place within the premises of the Okoya family’s luxury residence, where over 3,000 people were said to have attended the celebration.

As part of the festivities, billionaire industrialist Rasaq Okoya also reportedly distributed relief items, including packs of Indomie noodles and cartons of Power Oil, to attendees in an act of generosity.

However, some moments from the prayer session later generated mixed reactions on social media, particularly clips involving Shade Okoya and her son, Raheem.

One of the videos showed Raheem Okoya during the sujood stage of the prayer, with several online users sharing differing opinions about his posture during worship.

Another clip captured Shade Okoya during the sitting position in the second rakat of the Eid prayer. Some viewers claimed she appeared distracted while adjusting part of her daughter Olamide Raheeda Okoya’s outfit after it reportedly got tangled with her wristband.

Social media users also reacted to the way Shade Okoya positioned her hands during the prayer, leading to debates online about prayer etiquette and religious practices.

While some commenters criticized the prayer postures seen in the videos, others defended the Okoya family, stating that worship should not become a reason for online ridicule or harsh judgment.

Several users also stressed the importance of correcting perceived mistakes with kindness and wisdom rather than public condemnation, while others questioned why videos were being recorded during the prayer session.

Reacting one @okerekeodu said, “Her bangle got hooked to her daughter’s dress, so it was a bit of a distraction. She was trying to break loose.”

othsak commented, “Lol more like a fashion show than salat…may Allah guide us right and accept our prayers.”
