In December 2023, Tiwa Savage, a mother of one, made headlines as a fan almost pulled her offstage.
Tiwa Savage joined other celebrities at the Warri Again concert in Lagos State.
However, during her performance, the “Somebody Son” crooner was almost pulled off the stage by an excited fan. While performing on a podium, she moved closer to the fans, and that was just the beginning.
As she sang, a female fan grabbed her legs in excitement and refused to let go, almost pulling the singer off the stage.
It took the intervention of bouncers for Savage to get back on stage and continue her performance.
The Warri Again concert held its 20th edition on Tuesday, at the Eko Conventional Centre in Lagos.
Tiwa Savage captured the attention of all and sundry with the way she swiftly regained her steeze and composure, and acted as if nothing happened.

2. Burna Boy
Grammy Award winner, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy, fell on stage two times while he was performing in front of audience members.
Burna Boy took an unexpected tumble in 2024 while performing his global hit “Last Last,” after stepping on an unstable part of the stage. Fortunately, he managed to land on his feet and continued the performance.

3. Wizkid

During a concert in Abuja on December 17, 2021, at the Transcorp Hilton, an overzealous fan grabbed Wizkid by the leg while he was performing, causing a brief disruption on stage.
According to reports, two fans managed to gain access to the stage during the performance. One of them held tightly onto Wizkid’s leg and refused to let go, leading the singer to lose his balance and fall to the floor. Security operatives and bodyguards struggled for several minutes to free him, and during the scuffle, his trousers were torn.
Despite the incident, Wizkid remained calm and showed no sign of anger. After he was helped back on his feet, he reportedly instructed his bouncers to bring the fan back on stage. In a surprising gesture, he gifted the fan champagne and presented them with a gift.
Observers later clarified that the fall was not due to Wizkid tripping, but rather the force of the fans clinging to him and the efforts of security to pull them away. Once the situation was under control, Wizkid resumed his performance and continued the show without further issues.

4. Timaya
Popular Nigerian singer, Timaya, also called ‘Highest Chulo’ fell on stage while trying to lift a plus-sized lady during stage performance in December 2025.
The incident occurred when Timaya was performing hit song “Ukwu” at Gbaramatu Christmas Carnival in Delta State.
Timaya trended on social media when he collapsed after the plus-sized woman jumped on him midday during his performance.

5. Davido
Superstar Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido is also present on the list of artistes who who fell on stage during their performance.
At a show in Kigali, Rwanda, Davido stumbled while rushing onto the stage to perform “Dami Duro.” The incident happened as he was climbing onto the stage at the Amahoro Stadium, causing him to fall briefly. He quickly got back on his feet and went on to continue the performance.
6. Ayra Starr
Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, who is signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records labe,l has also fallen on stage.
While performing at Afrochella in Ghana, Ayra Starr slipped as she ran across the stage and fell. She quickly got back up, continued her performance, and later joked that the fall was painful.

7. Small Doctor
Small Doctor’s fall occurred during DJ Jimmy Jatt’s “Jump Off Mainland Invasion” concert. Caught up in the energy of his performance, he moved too close to the edge of the stage and fell off. He quickly recovered, got back on his feet, and the show continued as the party went on.

8. Lil Kesh
In December 2019, Nigerian singer Lil Kesh experienced a memorable mishap during his performance at Olamide Live In Concert (OLIC 6) in Lagos.
The incident began while Lil Kesh was performing his hit song “Efejoku.” His producer, Young Jonn, ran onto the stage to join him but slipped on the wet floor, accidentally colliding with Lil Kesh and sending both artists tumbling to the ground.
In an attempt to recover from the awkward moment, Lil Kesh tried to playfully hug Young Jonn and jump on him. However, the pair lost their balance again, resulting in a second fall.

9. Bella Shmurda
During a concert headlined by Seyi Vibez, an overenthusiastic fan rushed onto the stage, causing Bella Shmurda to fall. The fan grabbed him, resulting in him tumbling off the stage, but he was quickly assisted back up by members of the audience and continued his performance.
10. Peter Okoye (P-Square)
During the Beat FM Triple 9 Concert in Lagos on September 29, 2014, Nigerian singer Peter Okoye of P-Square experienced a dramatic fall while performing on stage.
The incident occurred as he performed the hit song “Bring It On.” Peter stepped too close to the edge of the elevated stage and tumbled approximately five feet to the floor, landing against the protective metal barricades that separated the stage from the audience.
Despite the fall, Peter quickly regained his composure, returned to the stage, and continued his performance, much to the relief and excitement of the audience.

11. Seyi Shay
While performing her hit single “Yolo Yolo” at the 2017 AFRIMA (All Africa Music Awards) held at the Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos, Nigeria, she slipped and fell while attempting a turn on stage.

13. BNXN (formerly called Buju)
In December 2023, Nigerian singer BNXN, formerly known as Buju, suffered a fall during a live performance in Lagos.
The incident occurred during his headline concert in the city, held during the festive period in late December. While performing energetically for his fans, BNXN reportedly stepped too close to the edge of the stage and fell into the pit below.
