In this content, catalystng.com takes a closer look at the trending online debate over who is the better journalist between Rufai Oseni of Arise TV and Seun Okinbaloye of Channels TV.
While some viewers praised Seun Okinbaloye for his calm and professional interview style, others likened Rufai Oseni’s approach to something out of an “animal documentary” because of his fierce and relentless questioning.
Many netizens argued that Rufai Oseni stands out as a more fearless journalist, often holding government officials accountable and confronting them on the nation’s pressing issues. On the other hand, some critics accused Seun Okinbaloye of being too soft and “romancing politicians” instead of challenging them directly.
Recently, Lere Olayinka, the senior special assistant to the FC minister, Wike, in an Instagram post, described Rufai Oseni of Arise TV and Seun Okinbaloye of Channels TV.
In his words; “ Rufai Oseni: There are empirical facts that you stole public funds, thank God you are here to answer for yourself. You are a thief, can you respond to these empirical facts?
Seun Okinbaloye: Hon sir, people have been saying that funds have been mismanaged under your watch and your office has released a statement saying it’s false. Sir what do you have to say about the allegations?
The difference is clear.”

Sharing his opinion in a viral post on Facebook, an online user identified as Chin Akano wrote;
“These two intelligent and vibrant chaps I watch a lot at my spare time . Seun of Channels and Rufai of Arise .
They are really doing the job but sometimes I get uncomfortable with some choice of words that Rufai uses . Sometimes he comes across as being harsh , rude , impolite and disrespectful.
Seun on other hand , can ask the same questions that Rufai asks but more respectfully and achieve the results .
I have never seen anyone interviewed by Seun that ended up with a fight with him or walked out of the studio in the middle of the interview. If , I have to hire one of them , I would go for Seun.
What’s your thought? Are you with me or am I blowing breeze lol Good morning ladies and gents . I am wishing you a very lovely day.”
