“I Am Innocent” Poco Lee Breaks Silence After UK Bail Release Over Rape Allegation (Video)

Nigerian dancer and entertainer, Iweh Odinaka, popularly known as Poco Lee, has broken his silence on his recent ordeal in the United Kingdom, maintaining that he remained calm because he knew he was innocent of the allegations against him.

Poco Lee spoke during a video conversation with social commentator VeryDarkMan, who shared the video on his Instagram page on Sunday.

Speaking about his experience, the dancer said his main concerns at the time were his associates and business activities rather than the allegations he was facing.

He said he was particularly worried that some of the people working with him, including Rahman Jago, would struggle to handle certain business matters while he was away.

“I was just being myself; God sees my heart. My only worries were about my people: Jago could not do anything business-wise; I didn’t want to stress anyone.

“If I were inside there and I did what I was accused of, I would have felt I was paying for my sins, but since I knew I didn’t do what I was accused of, my mind is pure. Nobody would have wanted to associate themselves with something like that, but Burna Boy stood by me, Jago, and some of my other guys,” he said.

During the conversation, VeryDarkMan also expressed support for Poco Lee and questioned some of the reports surrounding the dancer’s situation in the UK.

He acknowledged the support Poco Lee received from Nigerian singer Burna Boy and social media personality Rahman Jago during the period.

VeryDarkMan accompanied the video with the caption; “I just got off a video call with @rahman_jago_ and @poco_lee I guess the next narrative will be this is AI💀 THERE IS A REASON WHY I BRAG WITH INTEGRITY,I AM NOBODY’s mate,WHEN I TALK TAKE IT TO THE BANK………. The conversation comes amid reports circulating online about the status of the criminal case against Poco Lee.

Some reports had claimed that the dancer had been released from prison, while others suggested that the complainant had withdrawn from the case or that the matter had been resolved out of court.

However, the Crown Prosecution Service has confirmed that the case remains active.

Responding to an inquiry by PUNCH Online on Saturday, the CPS Press Office said Odinaka is still scheduled to appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, for a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing.

The CPS said, “This case is still live, and Odinaka is still set to appear for a PTPH at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 15 September 2026.”

A Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing is a pre-trial proceeding where issues concerning a defendant’s plea and preparations for trial are considered.

The CPS, however, did not disclose whether Odinaka is currently in custody or has been granted bail.

PUNCH Online has also contacted Snaresbrook Crown Court for clarification on his current custody or bail status and is awaiting a response.

Odinaka is facing five sexual offence charges in the UK, comprising one count of attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.

The case reportedly followed his visit to the UK for the Davido and Friends concert held at the Crystal Palace Bowl in London on August 14.

Snaresbrook Crown Court had earlier confirmed that his case was listed for a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing on September 15.

The court has also imposed a reporting restriction to protect the identity of the complainant under Section 1 of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992.

Poco Lee has denied committing the alleged offences. However, the charges remain before the court and have not been determined.

The dancer has not been convicted of any offence.
