Rape Allegation Poco Lee Makes First Public Appearance After UK Bail, Links Up With Burna Boy

Popular Nigerian dancer Iweh Odinaka, professionally known as Poco Lee, has made his first public appearance following reports that he regained his freedom on bail in the United Kingdom.

Poco Lee was spotted in a video with Grammy Award-winning Nigerian singer Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, in what appears to be his first public appearance since reports of his release from UK custody emerged.

The video was shared on August 12, 2026, by popular social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan.

In the footage, Poco Lee was seen exchanging pleasantries with Burna Boy before sitting down with the singer and other people at a table.

The dancer appeared relaxed and cheerful throughout the video as he smiled, interacted with those around him and enjoyed a meal of jollof rice accompanied by drinks and table water.

VeryDarkMan described the footage as evidence that Poco Lee was doing well after his reported release.

He captioned the video, “Proof of life, Poco Lee first video since he came out. Big up @burnaboygram. Welcome back @poco_lee.”

The appearance comes shortly after reports emerged that Poco Lee had regained his freedom from UK custody following sexual offence allegations against him.

It was previously reported on August 11, 2026, that the dancer had reportedly been released from custody. However, details surrounding his reported release were not immediately clear.

While the video has provided a glimpse of Poco Lee since the reports of his release, his legal case in the United Kingdom remains ongoing.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has confirmed that the case is still active and that Odinaka remains scheduled to appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, 2026.

In response to an inquiry by PUNCH Online on Saturday, the CPS Press Office confirmed that the dancer is still expected to appear in court for a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing, commonly known as a PTPH.

The CPS said, “This case is still live, and Odinaka is still set to appear for a PTPH at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 15 September 2026.”

A PTPH is a pre-trial hearing where issues relating to the defendant’s plea and preparations for a possible trial are considered.

However, while confirming that the case remains active, the CPS did not clarify whether Odinaka had been released on bail or whether he remained in custody.

PUNCH Online also contacted Snaresbrook Crown Court to seek clarification on Poco Lee’s current custody or bail status but was reportedly awaiting a response at the time of filing its report.

The clarification became necessary following claims circulating on social media that Poco Lee had been released from a UK prison.

There were also unconfirmed claims online suggesting that the complainant had withdrawn from the case or that the matter had been resolved outside court.

However, those claims had not been independently confirmed by the UK court at the time of reporting.

Odinaka is currently facing five sexual offence charges in the United Kingdom. The charges include attempted rape, two counts of rape and two counts of assault by penetration.

The case had earlier been listed before Snaresbrook Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on September 15, 2026.

The court has also imposed a reporting restriction aimed at protecting the anonymity of the complainant. The restriction was made under Section 1 of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992.

The case reportedly followed Odinaka’s visit to the United Kingdom in August for Davido and Friends, a concert held at the Crystal Palace Bowl in London on August 14.

Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, Poco Lee has not been convicted of any offence. The charges against him remain allegations, and the matter is yet to be determined by the court.

His recent appearance with Burna Boy has nevertheless attracted attention online, with the footage giving fans and social media users a glimpse of the dancer following the reports surrounding his UK case.
